Etruscan origins

In 1987 during agricultural work, two carved limestone sculptures were found, which turned out to be from the 7th century B.C. and among the oldest in all of Etruria. This prompted the Superintendency to begin excavations in the area of Casa Nocera, where an entire Etruscan Necropolis was discovered. The excavations, which took place between 1987 and 1988, brought to light several tombs belonging to the same kin group, excavated between the late 7th century B.C. and the early 6th century B.C. The richness and complexity of the grave goods (metal objects and weapons, ivories etc.) indicated that this was a very wealthy family from a very high aristocratic class, probably a Prince. In the main tomb, the discovery of bronze axes, swords, iron spears, a helmet and a parade shield made it clear that this was a warrior. The axe in Etruscan-Roman culture was a symbol, in fact, of political and military power. Among the various findings was a whole tasting kit, an indication that viticulture had been practiced in those parts since ancient times. Since that time, our history has been inextricably linked to the secrets that its land holds, and it wants to witness them through time for future generations.

We are a
big
family

Our winery was founded in Tuscany by Enrico Pagani and his wife Pia Pagani de Marchi, both originally from Switzerland. They decided to turn their farmhouse into a winery, inspired by the French wines that Enrico greatly appreciated. In 1997 they planted the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines. The first harvest, in 2001, showed that the soil had an excellent vocation for viticulture. Since then, our family and trusted staff have worked hard to improve the quality of their products, expanding production and highlighting the unique characteristics of their soil. All this is done while respecting the environment and without the use of chemical pesticides. The farm has been certified organic since 2009.

Festival of Thinking

Pia Pagani de Marchi plays a leading role in organizing the Thinking Festival, this year in its Eighth Edition.
Every year, together with collaborators, she invites internationally renowned personalities and promotes local culture, involving scientists, artists, philosophers and even astronauts in the past.
His goal is always to open the minds of festival participants, giving them the opportunity to discover new points of view and different cultures.
Thanks in part to his passionate work, the Thinking Festival has become a true cultural institution, attracting many visitors from all over the region.
